BEGINNER COMPLETE QUILT CLASS

beginner complete quilt Make one complete quilt from choosing fabrics to cutting and piecing. This is for the true beginner or someone who knows how to sew, but wants to learn quilting. Then we also teach how to make a quilt sandwich and quilt it using an even feed foot and then bind it. This is a 6 week commitment. If you come every week and do some homework we guarantee you will finish the quilt, or we will keep teaching you. Pattern and fabric are both required purchases.

Class Fee $80.00 plus materials

MY FAVORITE BAG

my favorite bag picture Make this adorable bag with our latest Lake House fabric. There is nothing difficult about this bag. It has fusible fleece, so no quilting is required. The results are a wonderful up to date bag. The hardest thing about this bag is deciding what color thread to sew it with. Pattern purchase required.

BEGINNING FREE MOTION QUILTING CLASS

free motion class sample This is a hands on class using your own machine. Nancy is an award winning quilter who has another entry into Paducah this year. She loves to machine quilt and she is Susie Q Quilting’s main reference person for anything machine quilting related. A discussion of thread, needles, marking techniques and batting will be included. Bring a lunch or plan to go out in town. You can also bring a quilt top to discuss possible quilting designs. Four 18” muslin quilt sandwiches needed for class practice. Class size limited to 6 students.

HOLIDAY ON POINT

holiday on point quilt picture This is Susie Q's Quilting most popular pattern. We currently have two different store samples in the pattern. The holiday version has a simple 4 patch Kaleidoscope. So learning how to kaleidosocpe fabric will be taught along with pointers on how to make rows on point with setting triangles. Student may opt to make three center blocks with setting triangles into a holiday table runner, 1 yard of kaleidoscope fabric and 1 1/8 yard for setting triangles and backing. Pre-cutting of all fabrics but the kaleidoscope is suggested. This is an advanced beginner class.

BUGGY BARN PICK YOUR QUILT CLASS

buggy barn quilt picture Buggy Barn has many patterns and books. Pick any of their quilts, bring your supplies to the class and Nancy will explain how to make the quilt. The In the Bag quilt to the right is just a sample of one of Buggy Barn's quilts. We will order any book and or pattern you wish. Currently We have 5 different books at the store to pick from. The ourchase of a book/pattern for your quilt is a required purchase for the class.
